Cloud system constellations

Our cloud is especially known for its easy connectivity. The various cloud adapters available for free, can do this in just a few minutes and the data can be conveniently browsed. Below we show 3 different system constellations for connection to the cloud.

Edge device with two Ethernet ports

If the network of the controller is to be separated from the network to the Internet, an edge device (IoT gateway) with two Ethernet ports is suitable. The Universal Cloud Adapter is connected to one or more controllers via the first Ethernet port and can exchange the data via OPC-UA, Modbus TCP or Siemens TCP.

The connection to the cloud is made either via the second Ethernet port or via 4G (LTE). The network of the controller thus remains separate from the Internet.

Data connection via serial interface

If the cloud connection is to be completely separated from the network of the control level, the data connection is suitable via a serial interface. The data can be easily exchanged via Modbus RTU (for example via RS 485).

The Universal Cloud Adapter runs on an Edge Device that acts as an IoT gateway. The connection to the Internet and thus to the cloud is possible either via Ethernet or 4G (LTE). This allows the controller to exchange the data even though it is completely disconnected from the network.

Cloud connection directly via the PLC

In many applications, the connection to the cloud can also be made directly via the PLC. We also offer cloud adapters specifically for CODESYS or Beckhoff controllers. Alternatively, with some controllers, the Universal Cloud Adapter can also be installed on the operating system part of the PLC. Without Cloud Adapter, the connection to AnyViz via MQTT succeeds.

Without additional hardware, controllers can be connected to the cloud. Of course, even in this scenario, no ports in the firewall must be opened.
